November Now: Looking Back At MCM, Forward To Thought Bubble
And some more from the last month..
MCM London has been and gone, and now, in a further affront to my wallet, it is Thought Bubble next weekend. I’ll be there on Saturday, so if you see me wandering, please come and say hello.
I’ve split my highlights, with some videos, into four parts. You can read part one, part two and part three and part four is coming on Sunday. It’s fantastic to see some familiar faces and to meet new people and those I have only met virtually1.
Thought Bubble will be an interesting one, and I’ll be there with my daughter and youngest son. It’s also my chance to check out the mysterious toilets at The Majestic!
Coming in December is a new graphic novel. The Many Deaths of Barnaby James is a team-up between TPub and Dark Horse Comics. This is an incredible story with many a twist and turn. You can pre-order it now, and I highly recommend it.
More exciting upcoming comic news with Ram V and Dan Watters both announcing new series from Image Comics. I’ve got a lot of their comics, and not only are they great writers, I also enjoy speaking to them!
Although I now have my now-regular walk to WH Smiths to get my latest issue, it’s great to see another method to get the anthology comic from Time Bomb Comics. Spectrum is an excellent addition and it has something for everyone.
As recommended to me, I thought I’d give you a rundown of some of the comics that caught my eye this past month.
The Devil That Wears My Face #1 from Mad Cave Studios
It's an interesting beginning with a dark story. I read this on GlobalComix and found it excellent. There are many possibilities for this story to go to.G.O.D.S. #1 from Marvel Comics
A good large-sized issue with some interesting characters. This was away from some of the bigger storylines in Marvel, but I really got into it.Transformers #1 from Skybound
I have a lot of love of Transformers, and this was an interesting kickoff of the story, with some questions for seasoned Transformers fans.Unnatural Order #1 from Vault Comics
This has a great idea and is a good blend of magic and action. The final page twist was slightly obvious, but I look forward to seeing where this leads.
Stranger than you think!
